We had a real hassle with our room upon arrival. The shower was super slippery and lacked a handheld wand, which I really needed. Plus, there was some dust around-definitely not what you want when checking in somewhere new.

I had a fantastic stay with great value for my money! The room was super comfy, and the historical charm added to the perfect location while the staff were great.
Menu for breakfast could benefit from more vegan options.

The hotel was pleasant and original, and the staff were exceptional, enjoyed the peaceful location so close to the city centre, park, the tunnel. The provided breakfast was amazing with prawns and a selction of fresh juices, as for instance. The main bar was good and the drinks were savoury.

Lovely design, helpful staff and excellent breakfast. Quiet.
Two out of the three lamps in our room were not working and the bath had not been properly cleaned.

Working with the staff on suggestions of things and sites to do in London. They were very helpful every morning.
-Internet access, paying as much as I did for a room the internet should have been provided. The hotel gave you 15 min per day free access, that is not enough time to handle home issues along wiht trying to find sites in the area. We were also not informed that our room had breakfast supplied. We left every morning to eat at local cafes when we could have stayed at the hotel. The staff did not inform us until we checked out.

excellent access to parks and vibrant cultural spots nearby
I loved my stay here, especially the friendly service and the delicious breakfast, made my mornings brighter, and the location allowed me to easily walk to both Seven Stories and the Quayside for great views and exploration.

Gorgeous interior design, fine river views, charming outdoor seating areas
Noise from outside traffic affects sleep quality!!! Room temperature inconsistencies can be quite uncomfortable. High parking fees feel a bit excessive!!! A real letdown with pricing for in-room bar items.

Just a good match for short visits in Newcastle upon Tyne with great value for money. The steak at dinner melted in my mouth and the staff were really helpful. Make sure to ask for restaurant recommendations when checking in.

The service was excellent, everyone in the hotel was extremely nice and helpful. The bar was very well stocked and knowledgable bar staff and the breakfast was very nice. The design of the cigar shack was also good.
The room was terribly badly designed. It was on the bottom floor facing out onto the courtyard near the cigar shack where people would be sitting. Consequently we could not draw the curtains without anyone seeing inside, and we were reluctant to open the window at night. Becuase we could not open the curtain the room was quite dark and the lights not up to the job. We lost count of how many times we bashed our legs and feet on the side of the bed, which is designed with legs that jut out, hidden by the duvet. I have numerous bruises from that. The light by the bed side did not work. There was a long black hair on the sink in the bathroom, and when I ran a bath the water came out with small black grains in it.

I stayed with an old friend from nine years ago, steve behind the bar was fantastic and his co-worker (I am annoyed and embarrassed to have forgotten his name buy he will remember us) was brilliant!! Nothing was too much trouble, great attitude, recommended a good cigar for chris, chris loved the smoking room, got us a table, then a cab when we decided not to eat! Chris was tipsey and excitable and the boys were wonderful to us!! He and made great cocktails! We will be back, he made our evening! He and steve both made our evening. I would like to afford a more expensive room next time and have dinner! GReat stay!
